II. Rewire

4 minutes and 43 seconds
In this video, Jon take us through a more functional approach to the static plank pose by having us roll from plank to side-plank. Make sure you lock the ribcage to the pelvis and not allow the pelvis to move before the rib cage. Work up to holds of 10 seconds on each side and move slowly through the roll.

3 minutes and 46 seconds
Develop the fundamental motor patterns for great oblique training. We don’t want to just train the front part of the core but we want to train it in 360 degrees. Side crunches teach us how to activate the oblique and spiraling fascial patterns.

5 minutes and 47 seconds
Jon’s taken a favorite from martial art training and enhanced it for combat science training. Not only will you learn how to dynamically stabilize the spine in multi-planes of motion but you will also learn how to lock your ribs to your pelvis and engage the whole core system.

6 minutes and 31 seconds
Lying on the stability ball, learn how to move the hands in multi-planes in order to recruit and strengthen the posterior chain (back muscles). Most of us do not train the posterior chain enough and we tend to train the areas that we can see (t-shirt muscles), like the pecs, biceps, abs. In order to be a complete functional human being we must train in 360 degrees.

5 minutes and 48 seconds
In this challenging video, Jon teaches us how to dynamically stabilize the core and perform a push-up all at the same time. As always Jon will take you through multiple planes of motion and even give you single foot variations. Make sure you practice this one in a safe environment.

5 minutes and 20 seconds
Follow along as Jon takes you through a full body mobilization and core training movement. You might have seen this being done with wrestlers to develop stability and strength while on the mat. It is one of the more fun exercises and allows for tons of creativity in your training.

4 minutes and 46 seconds
Grab some light dumbbells and get ready to challenge your shoulder and in 360 degrees. This exercise builds on the videos, Neurological Packing of the Shoulder, 3D Bands and all of the Push-up series of videos. You will learn how to use your whole body functionally to press dumbbells in all planes of motion.

3 minutes and 19 seconds
This video teaches the basics of two circular training motions which for some will be a completely new type of exercise. Make sure you take the time to practice the motions as they can be difficult to get at first. You are learning a whole new motor pattern.
